When Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) was launched in 1976, we had the singular goal of supporting local artists. Over the past 43 years, our goals haven’t changed, but the world around us has. We’re still focused on offering amazing experiences in the the arts with community-led panels, workshops, theater and gallery shows, but we’ve recently embarked on a journey to update our collection of offerings under a new cohesive brand, or The New Face of DVAA.
It’s the community that makes us what we are, and we can’t do this without your help. The funds we raise will help DVAA to flourish, and to move forward as a nationally recognized arts alliance.

DVAA is committed to advancing the arts in the Delaware Valley region through our support and encouragement of artists, innovative programs, advocacy, and business alliances. Here are some of the ways we give back to the community. Click on each heading for more information.
Did you know DVAA celebrates independent filmmakers and films at this festival every September? In fact, this year we premiered the international documentary The Art & Times of Frosty Myers. Frosty is a world-renowned artist living in our area.
Every Spring and Fall, DVAA brings you a dynamic Cultural Series at the Tusten Theatre that includes live music, theater, family-friendly shows, and cutting-edge performances.
We present year-round exhibitions in two gallery spaces showing local artists such as Jill Mackie and NYC artists Rodney White and Sonjie Feliciano Solomon. Many artists receive their first solo exhibition at DVAA!
This is our retail space, which supports local artisans, makers, and craftspeople. We feature jewelry by Jane Roth (Cochecton) and Judi Aronson (Lake Huntington), wool products by Buck Brook Alpacas (Roscoe), silk scarves by Jane Blake (Callicoon), and ceramics by Bryan Cronk (Livingston Manor).
In June 2018, DVAA joined with One Grand bookstore to launch this magical three-day festival for people who love books, and the writers who inspire them, with a series of readings, performances, and a marathon multi-venue reading of The Odyssey.
For the past 28 years, DVAA has hosted this summer celebration of the Delaware River and the artistic bounty of our community. This annual gathering is the flagship event for the hamlet of Narrowsburg as well as the Upper Delaware River region, attracting far-flung visitors with a full day of art and activities surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
To promote the arts in our region, DVAA awards re-grant funding under two separate re-grant programs. Arts for Sullivan, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts, provides $25,200 annually for arts programming in Sullivan County. Sullivan County Arts & Heritage Grants (SCAHG), funded by the Sullivan County Legislature, provides $12,000 for arts & heritage programming in the county. DVAA also supports working artists living in Sullivan County through the Individual Artists Grant.
Please join our campaign with a donation to help DVAA continue to promote the arts in the Catskills and beyond!
