Did you know that every 65 seconds someone is the U.S. is diagnosed with Alzheimer's? And that 5.7 million Americans are currently suffering from this incurable disease?
My grandmother was one of these people. She suffered from dementia, and shortly after she was diagnosed, she passed away. Then 2 years ago, my great aunt passed away from the same disease. It's heartbreaking to see someone you love suffer, but they are why I'm here.
In the past, I've played BvB because it was a good cause. But now, I'm back for my 8th season as the Director of Events with a purpose -- to plan awesome events and raise as much money as I possibly can in honor of my grandmother and great aunt. I hope if you're reading this, you haven't been personally affected. But if you have, or know anyone that has, you understand how painful it is to watch someone lose their memories. Their security. Their sense of self.
My hope is to raise $5,000 this summer and I'll need all the help I can get. There are lots of ways to support -- donations, attending our fun events, and cheering for us on Game Day! A $25 donation gets you a ticket to the game and afterparty on August 10th, but every little bit helps!
Thank you so much to those who have donated to me over the past 7 years, and to those willing to help this season. I truly appreciate the support and consideration for our cause!
