Thank you for supporting the Morton Arboretum! Funds raised for the Morton Arboretum fund vital scientific research, conserve trees here and around the world, and provide nature based education for kids and adults.
As I prepare for my 18th marathon when I run the Chicago Marathon on October 11, 2020, I choose this race to raise funds for a very special place in the Chicago area - the Morton Arboretum,
I want to share what a special place the Morton Arboretum is to me. I've been a member for over 10 years, running the 3 and 4.5 mile loops around the Arboretum countless times to train for the Boston Marathon in the depths of winter, as well as trying to stay cool running under the shade during the dog days of summer. Over the years I've seen the Arboteum blossom into a true community setting for both kids and adults, as they marvel at the sculptures along the lake, get pleasantly lost in the children's garden, and (my personal favorite!) attend fun events like the chocolate market held around Valentine's Day. I've even taken my goldendoodle Oliver on the trails on pet friendly days. This is a special place that everyone can enjoy, and I'm proud to raise funds to continue the Morton Arboretum's environmental and community focus.
