In 2018 the Dickinson Area Public Library set a course for its next major transition into the future, this transition, an expansion of the Library campus to meet the evolving needs of our community, and our own goals to provide an even greater variety of services.
Courtesy of the architects at Bartlett & West (the firm in charge of our expansion project) we have also attached a number of renders in the photos above which will give you an idea of what we are hoping to create in the future.
Thanks to the genrosity of the of the City of Dickinson, and the Library Foundation, nearly a full 3rd of the funds required to complete the Library expansion have already been pledged. However, like many of you we at the Dickinson Public Library were caught offguard by the rapid change that Covid-19 would impose on how we operate on a daily basis and how the pandemic as a whole would change how we raise funds and the methods required to overcome the challenges of this project.
That is where you come in, we know the pandemic has impacted everyone, and we know many of you won't be able to give, however we hope that those of you that can, will. The $100,000 goal set here will not provide all of the funds needed to complete the expansion, but if we can reach this goal it will allow us to pursue additional and even more comprehensive fund raising options. If we can demonstrate through this campaign that our community wants to see this expansion our chances of securing corporate and large scale private donors will rise dramatically.
It should also be noted, that the Dickinson Library Foundation is a registered 501 (c)(3), and any donations made to it are tax deductible! No donation is too small, so please, if you can, do, donate to help our Library take its first steps into a bigger, and brighter future.
