Every year thousands of elementary aged students in Des Moines and surrounding areas enjoy some benefit of Iowa Kidstrong's KidStriders program and each year over a thousand enjoy the full benefits by completing the entire program. Many of our schools participating in KidStriders have populations where more than half of the students qualify for Free and Reduced Price Lunch (FRPL) - a common indicator of poverty. Over one third of those schools are above 80% FRPL and a quarter are above 90%. Knowing this and coupling it with the fact that schools are typically not funded at a rate that keeps up with the cost of doing the "regular business" of school, Iowa Kidstrong strives to bring this program to participating schools at no cost in order to remove as many barriers as possible so that as many children as possible have the choice to participate. We'd like to keep doing this so that we can impact the health and well-being of as many as possible and we're asking for your help to see it through. Please consider donating to our cause so that we can get as many students as possible to the finish line this program year, and to get even more started off on the best foot possible for next. Thank you for your consideration! For more information about KidStriders, visit http://www.iowakidstrong.com/kidstriders
