More than 1 in 5 women in the United States experienced a mental health condition in the past year, such as depression or anxiety. Many mental health conditions affect more women than men or affect women in different ways from men. As a faith-based women’s ministry, we understand the stigma associated with this illness and want to dedicate the 2020 annual Woman of Character conference to this cause. We believe educating women on the causes, early warning signs, preventive measures and encouraging them on how to fight such battles through prayer and the word of God is vital in the revitalization of our community; one family at a time. The conference will feature medical screenings, panel discussions and a great networking opportunity for attendees.
"If we start being honest about our pain, our anger, and our shortcomings instead of pretending they don't exist, then maybe we will leave the world a better place than we found it"- Rusell Wilson
