How would you like to see this diehard Yankees fan dressed in Red Sox gear? Here’s the challenge.
If you haven’t heard by now, local elementary school principal, friend, Red Sox fan and fellow runner Kevin LaCoste fell from a tree while playing with his kids. He suffered severe spinal trauma. I’m running the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon this November 3rd in honor of Kevin and his family. Thanks to the Big Heart Foundation I have a mechanism to raise money directly for the LaCoste family. This is a foundation Kevin and his wife Ali Carnie LaCoste have run for multiple times and now we get to run for them.
I am setting a goal of $3000. I am going to match the first $500 in donations, so if we can raise $2500 by the race (11/3/19) I will wear a Red Sox jersey of Kevin’s choosing to work, I will have my photo taken with the words “I love the Red Sox” and I will make it my profile photo on Facebook and Instagram for one week. I will not put any disclaimers on the photo. I will keep it there for an additional day for every $100 above the goal.
Now if you’re thinking, what’s the big deal? Ask anyone that knows me how much this will hurt especially since the Yankees are doing so well this season. This is in some ways my worst sports fan nightmare, but I couldn’t think of a better reason for doing this.
Please consider donating today and Kevin get ready to pick your player.

Feels like this campaign needs to give Kevin some theme music. Check out the new song “Warrior” by Zac Brown Band. Kevin has definitely been and will continue to be a warrior!
