Friends, Family, and Alumnae of the House of Clara Barton,
The House of Clara Barton exists to prepare women to lead with honesty, strength, humility, and courage. To support that mission, we hold four values: sisterhood, transparency, servanthood, and excellence. This year, the Barton Executive team chose the theme THRIVE to focus the efforts made by the House for the entire school year. It has been our goal for each of the woman in our House to find their place within this community and flourish! These values and theme have led us on a wonderful journey through House competitions, Barton Brunches, and service opportunities.
The House of Clara Barton has become a family to the women who have been placed within this house community while here at King’s –– but also to the many women who have gone before us, in the 14 years of the house system’s existence. We love to spend time together, eat together, laugh together, but also open our lives and hearts to each other. We encourage one another and pray for one another with one another.
Our weekend away during Spring Retreat is essential to continue fostering this close-knit community. March 16th - 18th we are planning a trip to a home in Upstate New York to strengthen the bond of sisterhood between members of the House and to also enrich our lives with the beauty of God’s creation.
But, we need your help! With a House of 61 members (the largest House at King’s!), the cost of venue, transportation and food come to about $4,500. Our hope is for every single Barton to be able to join us for the weekend without being burdened by extra costs at the end of the semester. Would you consider donating $10, $25, or $100 to make our retreat happen?
If you are unable to give, we would appreciate prayers for safety over this weekend in March and for strength as we finish out another school year! Thank you for all of your help and for contributing to the special sisterhood we have in Barton.
With love, Addison Huntington-Bugg
President, House of Barton
