My mom, Joan Marquardt, has always been an inspiration to me. She raised her children, loved her grandchildren, was an active part of the community and survived heart attacks, 11 stents and triple bypass. And today at the age of 90, well almost 91 if you ask her, she keeps proving that a little heart disease won't get her down! As you can imagine we have a history of heart disease in the family. So I'm going Red in Feb and raising money to help with everything that the American Heart Association does to help prevent heart disease.
I have something for you too. For every $10 you contribute I will enter your name into a drawing for a prize basket that will have two bottles of wine - a rose and a red - (because mom said that a little red wine was good for the heart), a homemade embroidered kitchen towel made by me, a homemade knitted kitchen dishcloth made by Nicolette, and a bag of flax seed, because mom said that flax seed helped keep her cholesterol low. Of course all will have the theme of Red. So just to be clear, if you donate $100, your name will be entered 10 times - 1 entry/$10 donated. If you live too far away for me to deliver the basket, you may have to settle for a gift certificate for the wine because I'm not sure I can ship wine. That's it! You help me raise money for Heart Disease research, and you get a chance to win a prize.
It's all for the Heart of the Family, aka Mom, Grandma, Joan Marquardt!
