Named for one of the founding members of the Green Bay Curling Club, the foundation was established to raise funds to support and promote the sport of curling in the greater Green Bay area. It was granted tax exempt status by the IRS as a 501c3 corporation in October of 2019. All donations to the foundation are tax deductible.
The foundation is currently conducting a fund raising campaign to raise money to support the Green Bay Curling Club. There are currently two specific areas that the foundation is raising money for:
Covid-19 Relief Fund - Target $35,000
The purpose of this fund is to provide assistance to offset the additional costs and revenue lost as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The club is currently facing a deficit of $30,000 - $40,000 due to the pandemic.
CARES Act Deduction
For 2020, the CARES Act adds a new above-the-line deduction that allows an individual who does not itemize to deduct up to $300 per person or $600 per couple of cash contributions to a qualified charity. This is in addition to the standard deduction.
