Back in February my best friend was diagnosed with leukemia, stage 2. She was lucky enough to make it into remission and is now on maintenance medication a treatment. Rewind a decade or so and my chosen mother's son was diagnosed with leukemia. His was a long and hard battle but after a lengthy chemotherapy and and other treatment, he made it to remission. He is now 22 and still cancer free. Unfortunately in 2015 his mother passed away from lung cancer. When they found her cancer it was at a stage 4. Hers was also an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking battle. I want to lead a light the night walk in order to raise awareness and funding for research into more effective treatments.
