Film Festival: “Pursuing the Dream”, is a three-day event focused on the journey, the lives, and the future for refugees and migrants in the United States.
The film festival shows both documentaries and feature films, along with hosting panels on this subject. We are creating the potential to do follow up programs on Martha's Vineyard and across the United States; share the Exodus Institute sponsored university videos; and Introduce and promote the work of the Exodus Institute. We are engaging people with resources, people who are part of a network, and people involved in the space.
We feel it is necessary to have a discussion on the reality of the crisis, the history that lead to it, and the future challenges that await. In addition, we hope to raise awareness of and support for the Exodus Institute’s mission, policy objectives, and programs.
Based in Washington, D.C., The Exodus Institute is eponymously named after and inspired by the spirit of the American ship that carried Jewish Holocaust survivors from Europe to the Middle East in 1947. Today, more than 65 million people have been displaced due to conflict and persecution. The Exodus Institute envisions an America where communities and policies welcome and respect people of all backgrounds, in particular refugees, asylum seekers, and other immigrants seeking refuge in our country.
