We're all looking, waiting, and hoping for Good Dayz. When I think of these two words, I imagine happiness. I imagine a time where I’m surrounded by at least ten members of my family: my cousins, aunts and uncles, and close family friends gathered together having a barbeque, celebrating a holiday, and enjoying each other’s company. In my family, there were about ten cousins that were all around the same age, within five years. We played together, we fought together, we grew up together. I was inspired to write and record this song, “Good Dayz,” from the life and memories of my 32-year-old, beautiful cousin Kanette Exie Collier. Kanette was taken from us on February 25, 2019, way too soon and less than two years after discovering and battling a brain tumor. In an effort to showcase her life, leaving all of us with positive memories and truly a celebration of her life, I created “The Exie Project,” a legacy project in memoriam. This Project will be available for listen and download on several media sites on her birthday May 22nd. Lastly, the monies I receive in downloads and other support will be donated to the American Cancer Society in her memory and for the funding of research for this horrible disease.
