The Compass Center provides crisis intervention, counseling, and advocacy to children, adolescents, and adults (both male and female) who are survivors of domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and human trafficking/sexual exploitation. All survivor services are FREE and confidential, and the organization does not discriminate on any basis.
That word...FREE...is vitally important to so many of our clients. Clients like Belinda, who began seeing a Compass Center counselor as she and her daughter left an abusive environment to start a new life in a new home. Belinda recently shared some thoughts about her personal journey to healing:
"If I had to pay for the services it would have not happened, as I would have worried about the money, and also would have seen myself as not being worth the expense to invest in. I have hope that the future will be better, seeing life with a new strength and sense of self-value."
In an average year, the various programs and services offered by The Compass Center assist over 1,000 individuals in the Sioux Falls metro area. But there are still survivors we can't reach...people who desperately need the services we provide who can't get to us, or who have to wait for an opening. We need to keep growing so we can do more...and we need your help.
