International Bird Rescue has been part of my family for the past 12 years. It all started while on a date with my husband Matt, we discovered the center, I reached out for a job, and low and behold was hired just 2 weeks before Matt and I got married. Since then we have had 2 children, Ian who is 8 and June who is 4. Part of the reason I love my work is because I can bring this work home and help inspire my kids to enjoy and respect wildlife. I can give them an opportunity to experience wildlife in a way that many kids do not and give them a chance to see what it is like to enjoy and thrive in the work they do.
This year all 4 of us ar participating in the virtual 5k to help raise money for something that is part of ALL of our lives. Each dollar that is donated will help provide injured, orphaned, and oiled birds with the food, housing, and expert care that they need to return to the wild.
I would love to experience this will all of you too! Things have been rough for all of us as we struggle to make sense of a new world, the current pandemic, and what life may look like when it return to our new normal. What I LOVE it that anyone can participate this year and do it in a way that keeps us all healthy and safe and so something that mentally benefits us during a crazy time. Self care is something we try to encourage amongst our staff and volunteers, and this is a way for us all to take a little time for ourselves as well as do some good for sea birds in need.
Please join the race and consider supporting The Clatterbuck Clutch!
