The Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City, Michigan, is undertaking a huge and exciting project of creating, developing, and maintaining a sensory garden. This garden is designed to provide an engaging outdoor learning environment offering elements (musical bells, kaleidoscope, maze, sensory pathways, water feature, and much more) that will spur creative and active play, open-ended discovery, fine and gross motor skills, and language development thru various levels of interaction for visitors of all ages and abilities.
Located in the heart of Traverse City on the grounds of Historic Barns Park, this garden will complement the existing elements at The Botanic Garden.
The Friendly Garden Club needs your help in supporting these efforts. This garden will serve as a rich community resource and will be an attraction for everyone visiting our city. As a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, the Children’s Sensory Garden depends on generous contributions from individuals and local businesses to make this garden a reality. Now is your chance to be a part of this exciting project!
