It’s been 23 years since my dad died.
Everyone experiences grief in a unique way and for me, I’ve found great meaning volunteering as a peer support grief facilitator for the past 13 years. Most recently, in 2016, I began volunteering at The Children’s Room.
The Children’s Room creates safe, supportive communities so that no child, teen, or family has to grieve alone. All programs are free of charge for grieving families.
Grief is a natural and healthy response to death, everyone experiences grief in a unique way.
I'm a firm believer that the work that happens at The Children's Room, providing a platform and community to talk about loss, while being with others who have experienced a death reduces isolation and can provide hope.
The direct services for families and individuals include peer support groups (at our Arlington center and in locations throughout Greater Boston), Parenting While Grieving education series, Monthly Family Night arts-based program, teen programming, adult consultations, and information and referrals.
By helping me reach my fundraising goals, you’re providing support to families facing the death of a parent or child.
