In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and this period of intense vulnerability and uncertainty, Brigham and Women’s Hospital is taking every measure to prepare our hospital, city, and state for an unprecedented surge in patients.
Since the outbreak began, our Brigham community has worked tirelessly to respond. Upon learning of the shortage of COVID-19 test kits, our researchers worked around the clock to develop new, in-house testing protocols that have since been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. We have erected multiple pop-up testing sites that will allow testing of 1,000 patients per day to happen in safe, outdoor units that will protect those inside the hospital from exposure. And we are expanding our telemedicine options to provide virtual support to the many non-COVID-19 patients who continue to depend on us during this time.
During what is arguably the greatest healthcare crisis of our time, the Brigham is coming together like never before to leverage all of our skills and strengths. We are drawing on our collective expertise and the values we hold as an institution—compassion, leadership, collaboration, innovation, and action—to combat this formidable public health crisis. And we are asking everyone in our Brigham community to help in whatever way they can.
Your contribution to the Brigham COVID-19 Response 10K Team will aid our efforts on every front as we work together to defeat COVID-19, care for our patients and families in their hour of greatest need, and emerge stronger than ever.
We are stronger together. With your support, we will prevail.
