The BRICK Ministries, a faith-based nonprofit, provides essential human services to low income residents of Ashland and Bayfield Counties in rural northwest Wisconsin. Best known for its Food Shelf Program, The BRICK also provides emergency financial resources and referrals through its Benevolence Program with a focus to keep people in their homes. The organization never requires religious behaviors or statements of belief from consumers or volunteers, and it does not proselytize.
The BRICK has a unique opportunity to “go solar” because of a generous donation of solar photovoltaic modules from OneEnergy Renewables, the solar developer of Xcel Energy’s community solar garden in Ashland, WI. Together with Jolma Electric of Ashland, which has agreed to install the solar system at cost, and C&S Design & Engineering, which will provide engineering services at half price, the project is well on its way to being funded.
To fully fund the $31,990, 11.38 kW system, The BRICK will need to raise additional funds. Will you help us raise the last $11,500? The solar system will reduce The BRICK’s operation expenses so more money will be available for its vital human services programming.
“We’d rather pay someone else’s electric bill with the money we’ll save.” – Liz Seefeldt, Executive Director
This solar installation is one project in The BRICK’s long-term capital improvement plan, which includes additional systems upgrades to reduce its carbon footprint. Any excess funds raised will be earmarked for these associated capital expenditures.
Your donation will keep giving for years to come and is tax deductible. Thank you in advance for joining our initiative!
