We are competing in an Iron-[Wo]man Race on August 18th in Mont Tremblant, Canada to raise money for The Brave House!
We've set our goal at $30,000, which will enable us to hire a Legal Advocate for our team at The Brave House. Growing our staff will help us advocate for the rights of these young immigrant women and fiercely advocate for their humanitarian protections. Right now, Lauren is the only full-time staff at The Brave House. While we have an army of amazing volunteers, she could use some help.
Lauren (Founder and Executive Director) and Kevin (Creative Director) will be running the Iron-[Wo]man as a relay team - together covering 140.62 miles. Lauren is running 26.2 miles, and Kevin is swimming 2.4 miles and biking 112 miles.
As an incentive to donate to our campaign, we've organized an incredible line-up of fun fitness events leading up to the big Race Day - including 2 spin classes, a yoga workshop in Prospect Park, a self-defense class, and a bike challenge taking place over the Williamsburg bridge.
By donating $30, you will unlock access to sign up for one of these events (while spots are still available!) Sign up on thebravehouse.com! Attend all 5 events and you will receive a limited edition Brave House print designed by the talented Brazilian illustrator Carmela Caldart.
Please consider joining in on the fun and supporting our cause. We could not do this without all of your support. Together let's make a splash, spin our wheels, and get The Brave House up and running!
* If we reach $60,000, we can make this position full-time + include amazing benefits. If we reach $100,000, we can hire a full time Legal Advocate AND launch our community center. An Iron-[Wo]man is an ambitious race, and calls for ambitious goals!
