Bob Sarro passed away on June 14, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. His family established The Bob Sarro Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Not-for-profit organization that serves as a resource to continue Bob's commitment to supporting youth sports in the town of Yorktown Heights, NY, especially youth baseball. Not only did Bob play baseball at Yorktown High School, but he dedicated nearly 30 years of his life to coaching in Yorktown, between the little league and High School levels. During that time, Bob cultivated lifelong friendships with fellow coaches and made a tremendous impact on the lives of his players; many of whom returned years later to thank him for the lessons he taught them both on and off the field. In 2019 The Bob Sarro Foundation supported the Yorktown community by sponsoring baseball uniforms to the Yorktown Athletic Club, as well as providing a financial scholarship to a senior baseball player who graduated from Yorktown High School in 2019. With your support the foundation will continue providing financial assitance and resources to various youth sports and by awarding a financial scholarship to a graduating senior Yorktown High School baseball player each year. It is the hope of Bob's family that Bob's legacy and contibution to his community will continue on indefinitely.
