These two girls were found starving and lost in Carrabassett Valley, next to a third dog who had already passed away by the time a caring passerby stopped to check on them. We believe they are mother (Billie, the smaller black-and-white dog) and daughter (Holliday, the larger brown-and-white dog). They've evidently been on their own for some time as they were exhausted and emaciated when they arrived here. In just the short time they've been under our shelter's loving care, though, Billie and Holliday have put on a few pounds, and their energy is returning. They're sweet and loving girls who will eventually be offered for adoption together, but for now, they will need to stay here at the shelter until they can gain some much-needed weight and get healthy enough to be spayed. As we rely heavily on our generous community to provide for all of our animals, we're hoping you can help to offset the costs of their care while they wait to be ready for their fur-ever homes. Thank you in advance for your generous support!
