I am walking what I plan to be the first of many walks. This one, however, holds a special place in my heart. Teen Cancer America has healed me in ways no other organization could.
As you may know, I had metastatic testicular Cancer in 2011. I went into remission shortly after, and then came out of remission three months later with another brain tumor. The radiation treatments worked, but leftover dead tissue was causing me to have seizures.
I had as much tissue as possible removed with full knowledge that I would have some amount of parallysis on the left side of my body.
The surgery was successful, but I had a rough 5 years or so after mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
That's where Teen Cancer America came in. I have been participating in the Play It Back music program they offer. I had the opportunity to work with professional musicians and producers to create songs about my experiences. This is how I have been healing the past few years and I'm certain I would not have without it.
I know I ask for donations often, but it is because I am so passionate about TCA and the program. It's helped me and I've watched it help other young survivors.
I am walking for Teen Cancer America in March 2020 for the LA Big 5k. Please donate if you can. There are so many others out there like me that need your help.
