As many of you know, our parents opened a school in Uganda thirteen years ago and the accomplishments that the school has had over the years have been astounding. It is through the generous donations of our friends and family that have helped to make these accomplishments a reality. There are big plans in the works for the school again and Giving Tuesday is a way that you can help bring them to fruition.
Below is an update from my parents on what has been happening at the school and what's on the horizon. Please take a minute to read it so you can see all the hard work that they put into the school and students, day in and day out. Thank you for your continued support - we really appreciate it!
As John Paul Secondary School completes it's 13th year of educating children in Chelekura we're excited and blessed as we look back to 2007 when the doors first opened to a meager class of just 14 wide-eyed students. From that day until now, it has been a story of continuous (some would say exsplosive) growth.
The big news this year is that as of this writing, construction of a Boys dorm that will house an additional 160 students is underway with completion expected by start of the 2020 school year in February. The dorm is definately needed since that meager student count of 14 in 2007 reached over 400 last year and is expected to top over 500 in 2020 !!!
