Underserved communities have been already affected by the pandemic and today, they need our support. Texas will still be feeling the effects of the winter storm catastrophe for a long time. Many of them are still without food, water, power or heat. Lots of people are going to experience food insecurity in the coming days.
People of color are disproportionately affected by climate change and public health crises and the blackouts in Texas have hit black and Latinx communities predominantly hard and experts affirm these communities will be the last to recover (New York Times). In Texas, about 48% of people are Latinx, of whom about 84% are of Mexican origin (U.S. Census Bureau)
We are partnering with local Texans activists, leaders, and individuals to deliver the resources funded by your donations. Help us reach our goal and provide essential goods, blankets, and food!
