Cell phones, laptops, tablets. Facebook, instagram, LinkedIN. We spend a lot of time on social media and many of us have networks that are hundreds or thousands of people, or more! What if we used 10 seconds of that time we spend to propogate a message of hope and raise money to help real people in need.
This isn't my story. This is the story of the thousands of people who are victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse in the USA every single year. People who can't even feel safe in their own homes and often do not have the means or support to remove themselves from a horrible situation. This campaign is about these survivors and the hope and support that DASI can bring them.
I've been on the board of DASI for over a year now and see the impact our social workers and counselers have on real people. DASI provides shelter for those in need. Emotional and legal support for those fighting to live a normal life. It's truly inspiring to see how hard our staff and volunteers work to help people in our community.
I urge you to consider a donation. Every dollar helps. Every single dollar. Through the voice of thousands we can change the world. Please consider a donation and know that your money will go directly to help those in need: through shelter, through services and through hope.
To hit our goal I need you to forward this to your friends and family. It only takes 1000 people to give $10 and we're there!!! Every single dollar counts- please consider donating and if you can't donate at this time please forward to friends and family and share on social media- it will only take a few seconds and your impact is real to survivors of domestic abuse.
My employer, Thorlabs, is matching donations up to $50,000. My goal is to ensure that Thorlabs gets to contribute in a big way to DASI this coming year. Please help me get to my goal of $10,000...which means a total of $20,000 of support for the survivors of domestic abuse.
And just for fun...for every $100, I'll commit to running 10 miles. So if we hit our goal, I will commit to running 1,000 miles in 2020.
So please join me in sharing this and spreading the message of hope and more importantly helping raise funds that will directly support hundreds and thousands of survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
