To those I love,
Most of you know I've been Development Director for The Nashville Food Project since 2015, and in that time you may have heard me glow on about the work that we do here in Nashville every day. I am so proud to get to share the story of this organization and to brag on the amazing work of my co-workers. I know we are doing incredible things for the city of Nashville.
The Nashville Food Project brings people together to grow, cook and share nourishing food. We do that by growing organic food in urban gardens, helping families grow their own food, supporting refugee farmers in growing food to sell, and preparing delicious, nutritious meal that are shared thorughout our city. That meals piece is one of my favorites because, while it seems so simple, it's radically different. These meals are shared in partnership with other nonprofits to support the valuable work that they are doing every day. These meals help make it easier for single moms to study for their GED. They provide healthy snacks to help kids get full and stay focused in after-school programs. They bring families together for family counseling. In short, these meals use the transformative power of food to nourish body and soul.
The Nashville Food Project is paving the way for a long future. Last year we kicked off a $5 million campaign - literally the most challenging thing I've done professionally! We have already raised over $3.875, but we still have a way to go. Adam and I have already pledged a significant amount, but I ask each of you to consider supporting this incredible project, too. If you have questions, feel free to reach out, and I'd be happy to tell you more about it.
Thank you for considering,
