Unfortunately, we are back asking for help as Tennie had another emergency surgery last night. We are pleased to announce that he is recovering nicely and we are so thankful to the wonderful staff at West Coast Equine Hospital.
We thought he was colic again but come to find out he is having an issue with his colon. This time not a hole in his colon but a piece of his colon slipping under another part. We will continue to update you as new information emerges but we are doing everything possible to keep him healthy and happy.
Please see below for information on his other recent surgery.
Big Heart Ranch's precious wild mustang, Tennie, is undergoing sugery resulting from colic and will need extensive medical care and rehabilitation in the folowing months.
At birth Tennie had a one in ten chance of living and beat all of the odds to become a friend and guide as well as a beacon of light to anyone struggling to find their way through life’s challenges.
Tennie was born without sight and has perservered through his life, touching thousands of Big Heart visitors and most recently inspiring the blind communtiy from the Braille Institute.
Tennie has a huge heart and spends every day sharing his love and courage with people who are struggling. He is no stranger to overcoming tremendous obstacles. Tennie barely escaped being slaughtered before birth, only to be rescued and born without eyes and suffer from pneumonia and a leg that wouldn’t hold him. From his first breath, Tennie was determined to beat the odds and embrace life with courage and joy that inspires anyone lucky enough to cross his path , including countless individuals without sight whom Tennie has snuggled with, walked a path with, shared magic and joy with and inspired endless new experiences with.
We ask for your support as we face this crisis for one of our most beloved animals at Big Heart Ranch.
Tonight Tennie is fighting for his life. He is in surgery for a severe colic and needs your help! Please give what you can and help Tennie survive!
