It's no secret that 2020 has been a challenging year for most people. Some folks, though, have had a much larger challenge than others. Imagine, in the midst of a pandemic, having to battle cancer. Hospitals and medical staff are quickly reaching their limits, yet cancer does not care. It is an awful, cruel disease.
In 2020 our cousin/niece/partner/friend, Susan Mae Martin or Sue/Susie to most of us, lost her battle with cancer. We are saddened by the loss of her sweet smile and know that nothing can replace it. Still, we can honor her memory through our support of the American Cancer Society in their continuing quest to stomp out cancer.
We have a large family where exchanging gifts with so many became not only a financial issue but a logistical issue as we dispersed across the country. When we realized that most of us were simply exchanging gift cards, we decided that we could do something better. Now, instead of exchanging gift cards, we donate the $20, $25, or more that we would have spent on a gift to a worthy cause. This year we have chosen the American Cancer Society.
All money raised goes directly to the American Cancer Society in Memory of Sue Mae Martin. When you donate, you will be emailed a receipt indicating your tax-deductible donation to the American Cancer Society, a 501(c)3 charity.
