When Iyanna saw that a brand-new college access program in her home state of Delaware committed to preparing talented low-income, African American students like her for top colleges was seeking applications from students in grades 9th through 11th, she knew she had to plead her case. As one of the top high school seniors with aspirations to become a first generation college student, Iyanna needed help to make her college dream a reality. This is why, she called TeenSHARP and insisted that she'd be admitted into the program; and she was! Almost four years later today, Iyanna is a thriving student in the University of Delaware's Lerner College of Business and Economics. She is a researcher on campus and soon-to-be a published author. This summer she will spend at the Microsoft Headquarters moving one step closer to her dream of becoming a data scientist.
TeenSHARP has been on a mission to create life-changing opportunities for the youth who need it the most since 2009.
