"As someone who relies on touch to navigate the world, the potential threats to her existence have multiplied now that the novel coronavirus might be waiting on the next door knob or window sill."

On Mother's day (rain date 5/11) I will be running the Sugar Badger Virtual 50 Mile Race in an effort to raise awareness & funds for the MAB COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund (Massachusetts Association for the Blind). This is the longest distance I have ever run by far, but this is a cause near and dear to my heart and I am more than up for the challenge.
I have had the great honor of running the Boston marathon as a guide for three different Team With A Vision athletes. I have learned and seen first hand how critical it is for those who are blind or visually impaired to get the support they need in order to function successfully in their day to day lives. Due to Covid-19, the needs of those who receive help from the staff and volunteers who work at MAB have increased exponentially. Without the ability to touch & feel, something as basic as grocery shopping is no longer a safe option.
MAB's Emergency Response Fund makes sure the critical & changing needs of the programs of the Massachusetts Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired, Ivy Street School, and MAB Adult Disability Services are met during this national crisis.
Please consider joining me in supporting this incredible organization. Whether it's a dollar value per mile or single donation, any amount will go a long way toward toward helping MAB and those who rely on them.
Thank you so much,
