Will Weibert, one of the newer residents of Sedalia, was raised in a small town in Western Nebraska and graduated high school in 1999 from Bridgeport High School. Will attended Chadron State College and graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Finance. Growing up, Will was very active in sports, earning All-State honors in football and was a state and regional champion in wrestling.
After college, Will started his newspaper career at the Star-Herald in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. From 2004-14, Will also coached football, baseball and operated the local wrestling club until his move to Rapid City, South Dakota.
Moving to Sedalia in June 2017 to become Publisher of the Sedalia Democrat, he knew this was a place he could call home. He has met so many great people doing so many great things and wants to do his part to make citizens’ life in Sedalia better. Will is the President-Elect of the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce, a Sedalia Rotary Club board member and sponsors local charities through the Sedalia Democrat such as Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, Center for Human Services, Child Safe and CASA.
