On Sunday, November 3, I am running with Team UNICEF in the 2019 TCS NYC Marathon and am thrilled to support Educate a Child with their initiative to help out-of-school Syrian children get back to learning.
In parts of Syria, going to school has become a matter of life and death because of the repeated violent attacks on civilians. Since the conflict began in 2011, one in three schools can no longer be used because they have been destroyed, damaged, or used to house displaced families. Nearly 40% of children who are out of school are between 15-17 years-old, making them prey to exploitation including early marriage, recruitment into fighting, and exploited child labour.
With your kind donation to this cause, together we can educate a generation and empower them to rebuild their country and become a generation of leaders and peacekeepers, who can create opportunities and hope in a war-torn nation.
Please join me on my journey and help us support the children of Syria. Click the ’Donate‘ button and turn children of war into beacons of hope. Every donation makes a difference- thank you and see you at the finish line!
