2019 Breakthru Hockey Invitational Fundraiser:
TEAM STAR NOSED MOLES
Coach: David Lockie
Captain: Kevin Roberts
Breakthru is excited to announce, in support of its ‘Community’ strategic pillar, this year’s Hockey Invitational has again added a fundraising component to help us continue being a force for good in the community. Players have the option to help fundraise for a very important cause.
Breakthru has partnered with the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation to collect funds, which will be split between the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation, ICE and BUILD.
The Inner-City Education (ICE) Program:
· The program was established in 2003 to help low-income children who play hockey obtain educational and athletic opportunities not otherwise available to them.
· Funds raised will help the new ICE Hockey Club's programming for inner-city youth to learn and play hockey, as well as academic support for the athletes.
· ICE provides scholarships for Chicago area grade school, junior high, high school or undergraduate college students seeking to receive a tuition-based education.

BUILD (Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development):
· Since 1969, BUILD has helped thousands of young people transform their lives, and today reaches over 3500 youth a year with caring adult mentors and a rich variety of experiences in the arts, athletics, college & career preparation, entrepreneurship, leadership development, and technology.
· Funds raised will help to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed violence prevention services to young people in one of Chicago's most vulnerable communities.
· BUILD's mission is to engage at-risk youth in the schools and on the streets, so they can realize their educational and career potential and contribute to the stability, safety and well-being of our communities.
