Imagine what it's like to spend many months training in the cold New England winter — running before sunrise or after dark, spending time away from your family — all in order to raise money so that everyone in Greater Boston will always have a place to call home. Each runner has their own personal reason for accepting such an enormous challenge.
Team Metro Housing has had runners compete and raise funds through the Boston Marathon since 2006 thanks to the John Hancock Nonprofit Program. Runners have raised nearly $500,000 to prevent families and individuals throughout Greater Boston from becoming homeless and transition from homelessness to stability.
About Metro Housing|Boston
Metro Housing addresses and prevents homelessness in Boston by providing supports and services for families and individuals and helps them move along the pathway from homelessness to housing stability to economic security. We are dedicated to connecting the residents of Greater Boston with safe, decent homes they can afford.
We bring together resources to help families and individuals achieve housing stability, economic security, and an improved quality of life. We do it by providing knowledge, skills and financial tools to help families prevent evictions and homelessness, find suitable homes that lead to housing stability, and ensure long-term economic security.
We meet people where they are, and provide them with answers and solutions to fit their needs. No one is turned away.
Support Team Metro Housing and help us move the affordable housing needle in our community. We appreciate your support.
