On October 27th, I will be running in the Marine Corps 10K to support Latin American Youth Center (LAYC). The promise of burning off some calories while running through the beautiful sights of DC is motivation enough for me, but that’s not the main reason I’m training for this race.
LAYC’s participation in the Marine Corps races will raise funds for LAYC’s education, health and wellness, housing, and job training programs in DC and Maryland. LAYC believes in a future where all youth pursue their dreams, reach their goals, and acquire the skills and self-confidence to live a life of purpose, connection, contribution, and joy. With that vision, LAYC serves about 5,000 individuals each year.
As a former employee in LAYC, I can say first hand how amazing this organization is and I am more than proud to support them. Please consider donating whatever you can to help youth in DC have access to amazing educational, social, and leadership opportunities!
