As you may have heard, the City of Boston, the Boston Athletic Association, and John Hancock have decided that the 2020 Boston Marathon scheduled for September 14, 2020, will be held virtually.
Team Lahey will continue their fundraising for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Beverly Hospital.
Team Lahey is proud to be an official partner of John Hancock’s Marathon Non-Profit Program for the second year in a row!! Our runners will participate in the 2020 Boston Marathon® on Monday, September 14 and raise funds for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Addison Gilbert Hospital, Beverly Hospital, or Winchester Hospital.
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington is a 335-bed academic medical center has been ranked among the state’s best by U.S. News & World Report. A teaching hospital for the Tufts University School of Medicine, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is home to the leading liver transplant program in New England, boasts the only Level I Trauma Center between Boston and Manchester, NH, and offers patients access to clinical trials of new therapies for diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and cataracts. Lahey clinicians pioneered low-dose computed tomography (CT) screening for early-stage lung cancer, a technique that is now used at hospitals nationwide.
Our community hospitals are consistently recognized for their excellent patient care and outcomes. Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester received a Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) Exemplar Award in recognition of its commitment to caring for and meeting the needs of older adults. Beverly Hospital has been recognized by patients for outstanding orthopedic care and has become the fifth largest hospital in Eastern Massachusetts for total joint replacements. Winchester Hospital’s Ambulatory Surgery Center will soon become the only day surgery site in the state to offer minimally invasive robotic surgery.
We are grateful for our runners who inspire and amaze us. We are thankful for the donors who support them and our mission to provide superior health care, leading to the best possible outcome for every patient. And we are indebted to our lead sponsor, John Hancock, as this program would not be possible without them.
Thank you for supporting Team Lahey!
