Team Babsie is headed to Boston!
During last years Boston Marathon run as a part of Team Hoyt's Charity Team I decided that I didn't want to be on that course again without my mother! Soooo... Babsie and I trained all year and this fall at the Baystate Marathon with a time of 5:44:37, we became "eligible" to run the Boston Marathon as a DUO Team. We entered our time into the eligibility pool and we are beyond excited to share that we have been randomly selected by the BAA to run the Boston Marathon as a DUO in April 2020 as a part of Team Hoyt's Boston Marathon Charity Team.
Six years ago, I had the honor of seeing Rick and Dick compete in the Mill City Triathlon near my home town.
Watching the two of them enjoy the challenge of the event, immediately made me want to experience the same type of enjoyment with my mother. My mother Barbara (Babsie), 75 years young, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over 35 years ago. This diagnosis sidelined her from many events over the years.. until now.
Since that wonderful fateful day that I saw Dick and Rick compete, my mother and I have been participating in many athletic endurance events; 5ks, 10ks, marathons, triathlons, charity bike rides, hikes up the Mt. Washington Auto Road and next June we will be headed to SPAIN!
Dick and Rick and the entire Team Hoyt family have been so wonderful to both me and my mother, it seems so fitting that WE accept this great honor to run as a part of the Team Hoyt Boston Marathon DUO Charity Team.
Thank you so much for your support as we give back to Team Hoyt, a team that has given so much to us.
With love - Team Babsie
