I'm running the Falmouth Road Race as part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Team again this year. This race has become an important one for me because it pushes me - every year - to run harder and stronger. It's a tough course but a meaningful one because my thoughts during this race are different than when I run to train or to compete.
When running the Falmouth course and I feel winded or my legs get tired, I think of why I'm running that day. I run to support those living with Cystic Fibrosis - J, in particular - one of my best friends. I think of what it would feel like to not be able to breathe deeply every day and to not have the stamina to keep going. These thoughts help me to appreciate that I can run the 7 miles and that I push on to that finish line for those who can't. I raise money to support the research efforts so that those with CF can have more days of breathing easier and pushing through to meet their goals.
Please support me and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by donating to my fundraising campaign.
UNTIL IT'S DONE!
We will not rest until we find a cure for all people with cystic fibrosis.
The New Balance Falmouth Road Race will celebrate its 47th running in 2019 and the spirit which made the first Falmouth so special is still present today. More than 12,000 runners will gather in Woods Hole for the 2019 running, including many of the world's elite - though the spirit of the event will always remain a fun run. Back-of-the-pack joggers share the road with the best, forming a tapestry of colors from the start on Water Street to the finish at the beach in Falmouth Heights.
