As you may know, I am on the board of directors for the New Jersey Chapter of CancerCare®.
As my family has personally been touched by cancer in various ways over recent years, this organization holds an important spot in my heart.
CancerCare® is the leading national organization providing free, professional support services and information to help people manage the emotional, practical, and financial challenges of cancer.
Last year, CancerCare helped 174,600 people throughout the U.S. and distributed $39.7 million in financial and co-payment assistance.
The organization provides counseling, support groups, education workshops, and so much more. One program that I am personally proud of is the CancerCare Pet Assistance & Wellness (PAW) Program. Pets bring love and support into the lives of people with cancer and their loved ones. Caring for pets when you have cancer can be challenging. The PAW program assists people living with cancer, care for their pets during the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of cancer treatment. In addition to financial assistance, the program offers educational webcasts, print and digital materials, and counseling services.
As a result of the pandemic, like many charitable organizations, we have had to cancel many of our traditional fundraising events. As a result, I want to introduce you to DoSomethingForCancerCare. DoSomethingForCancerCare is a do it yourself way to raise money. Since I am not a runner, I am merely asking that if you are able, please consider donating. No amount is too small. l and everyone can do something.
