In 2011, we gathered in the Roosevelt Room 3 times a week, charged by President Obama to develop the best executive actions he could take to move his agenda forward in the face of Republicans in Congress who tried to thwart his every move. President Obama asked us a simple question: "What can we do without Congress?" He knew there was too much at stake to wait around for Congress to do its job.
"We Can't Wait" became our battle cry: we can't wait for Republicans in Congress to help small businesses, hire veterans, make buildings more energy efficient, help homeowners refinance their mortgages, or make it easier for students to repay their student loans.
Sandra Abrevaya was a critical member of our "We Can't Wait" team, deftly guiding our message and executing our communications plan flawlessly. Now, Sandra's wonderful husband Brian Wallach--who many of you know from the '07-'08 campaign and White House Counsel's Office-- has ALS, and they need our help in their fight for a treatment and possible cure.
The good news is, there is a possible treatment that could stop or reverse Brian's ALS--but to make it a reality, so that it can help Brian and other ALS patients, we need you to pitch in. Please donate! We can't wait!
