Last year I was invited to join an amazing team of women to run my first half marathon. We each run for our own reasons and in memory of those dear to us that we lost far too soon.
For myself, I lost my Father as a teen. I watched him lose his battle with cancer and it really hits home when I think I am just four years shy of when he passed away. The pain he must have hid and the strength to do it really shows me his love, dedication and strength as a Father.
I couldn't imagine leaving my boys and I don't want anyone to experience this loss. I run to raise money so that families do not have to experience losing a loved one from cancer and our loved ones live, love and flourish long into their golden years.
