Thank you very much for taking the time to read our story. For those that are not aware, our mom (Kim Geisinger) was diagnosed with stage IV adrenal gland cancer in April 2018. It is a rare form of kidney cancer, with only about 200 cases found each year. This news was a shock to all of us and a reminder of how precious life really is. The following months have been filled with an incredible outpouring of support and love for our mom and family. We are so blessed to have each of you in our lives.
Overall, her treatments have been positive. Her strength, courage and faith have been an inspiration to us all. She is an amazing woman and the glue that holds our family together now more than ever.
Her treatment is a form of immunotherapy discovered through cancer research. That’s what has inspired me to join Team Jimmy V and participate in the 2019 Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15. We want to support the cause that has given our mom a chance to fight this disease and we need your help to take another step toward a cure. Humbly, our family would like to ask the following favors from each of you:
1. If you have the financial means to contribute, please do so. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and donations can be made at the top of the page. Our goal is to reach $6,000 by Friday, March 15. All funds raised will go to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research.
2. If you do not have the means to contribute, please take a minute to make someone’s day with a random of act of kindness.
3. Share this page with your friends and family and post it on social media. Spread the word and love!
Finally, we’d like everyone to know that this extends well beyond our mother. We’ve lost many loved ones to this disease, especially in 2018, and I know many of you have been affected as well. Please feel free to donate in the name of anyone close to you and share their stories with us! We hope this effort will help bring a small amount of peace to you and your family. I know that it will do the same for ours.
Our Best - Scott Geisinger & Family
