I'm humbled to be a member of the 2019 TEAM USO at the Air Force Marathon. This year while raising funds to support our troops and their families through the programs of the USO of Central and Southern Ohio, I am also, with his widow's permission, running to honor the memory of Major Andrew Becker (USAF) who gave his life for our country on March 14, 2017. Andy was one of three airmen who lost their lives when their U-28A aircraft, assigned to the 318th Special Operations Squadron at Canon Air Force Base, crashed in eastern New Mexico on a training mission. This American hero represents to me a real life example of the service and sacrifice our military members vow to make if required.
Additionally, "Becker", his wife, has become to me a personal and very beautiful reminder of the tremendous pain and loss our Gold Star families endure. We should never forget!
Would you consider performing a "random act of kindness" to honor great heroes like Andy and Shelly Becker? Simply do something kind, take a picture or write a narrative AND post on your social media using the hastag: #randomactsforandy. Also, if you are interested in supporting my fund raising effort, remember, any contribution you provide is tax deductible and will be used toward helping the USO of Central and Southern Ohio carry out it's mission of "keeping America's military members connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to our nation."
As a nonprofit, non-government agency, the USO of Central and Southern Ohio (USOCSO) relies on fundraising efforts like this to continue to serve out troops and their families. Your tax deductible donation will help them be a blessing to those who serve our country and protect our freedoms.
God Bless YOU and God Bless America!
