Paddle for Promise is a 58-mile paddling trip down the Delaware River from Trenton, NJ to Wilmington, DE. Paddle for Promise will include 50+ volunteer paddlers making the trip on six 45-foot OC6 outrigger canoes over two days. Founders Bruce Main and Jim Cummings will be joined by the executive directors from Wilmington and Trenton to paddle alongside volunteers and staff to raise funds.
We're looking for paddlers who would be willing to join our boat and we hope that you're up for the adventure. You have the option to paddle for either one or both days-no prior experience necessary! We ask each paddler to raise a minimum of $500-ask your friends, family, or church to support you in your trek down the Delaware River!
UrbanPromise will provide all logistical support and transport of paddlers to and from the launching and take out sites. Paddlers must be able to: swim well, be comfortable on the water, paddle in hour-long shifts with no breaks at a moderatequick pace, and be able to climb in and out of the boats when switching paddlers. All paddlers can leave their cars at UrbanPromise in Camden and then take the bus to the launch site.
