This year I am running the Boston Marathon again for UNICEF! As many of you know I've been involved with UNICEF for a long time and am totally committed to it. For more than 70 years, UNICEF USA has put children first. It is the organization which has saved more children's lives than any other humanitarian organization.
Team UNICEF Boston 2020 is not only running the Boston Marathon but is raising money for UNICEF Kid Power! Built for a new generation of global citizens, UNICEF Kid Power uses the world’s first wearable-for-good to get kids moving by tapping into their inherent desire to help their peers. By joining the UNICEF Kid Power team, kids get more active so that children everywhere can grow up healthy. UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids go on missions to earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severly malnourished children around the world.

Please join Team UNICEF by donating to my 2020 Boston Marathon run. Donate because you love UNICEF and KidPower. Or donate because you love kids. Or donate because you know that doing so will motivate me when fatigue, blisters, pain and doubt set in. Whatever your reason, rest assured the cause is a good one.
In addition to the toll the training takes on one's body, there is also the toll the training takes on one's family--every time my family is looking for me it seems I'm out running! I'm grateful that Jono, Annika and Skylar not only put up with my training (and the incessant complaints about my various aches and pains, and annoying procrastination before those long runs), but they agreed to match your donation! You don't need to give much--a little goes a long way at UNICEF, and knowing you supported my run has a psychic value that will truly propel me forward when my body tells me to stop!
Thank you for considering and hope to see you somewhere along the course on Marathon Monday!
