I was unaware of what UHCCF even was until the opportunity to run this 1/2 marathon came across my email inbox. The more I learn about UHCCF the more giddy I am to be able to support the cause! As a mom of two and a person who was worked in healthcare over a decade --- i totally get that we miss the mark so many times when it comes to covering costs - of needed treatments - let's help families be able to care for their children!
UHCCF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their family’s commercial health insurance plan. Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child ($10,000 lifetime maximum per child), and do not need to have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible. UHCCF was founded in 1999. Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded 15,000 grants valued at $40M to children and their families across the United States. UHCCF’s funding is provided by contributions from individuals, corporations and UnitedHealth Group employees.
