On June 24, Team TriUMPH will be once again be participating in the Motor City Triathlon to benefit Team Joseph in their fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
A joking question a couple years ago of "want to run a triathlon with me?," followed by a handful of lake swims, no biking, and some lackadaisical running has turned into a family event we look forward to each year! Please support us as we come together to help triUMPH over Duchenne's by pushing our athletic (or lack thereof) abilities!
Some have done this before, others are first timers- either way all are throwing caution to the wind and will be diving in (literally) to help raise money for a great cause. Team Joseph is a non-profit organization whose mission is to aggressively fund cutting edge research to find a treatment or cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne's is the most common degenerative genetic muscle disease which currently affects 1 in 3,500 boys. As most boys are growing stronger and gaining independence, boys with Duchenne are losing muscle function and mobility. At this time, there is no treatment and no cure that stops the progression of Duchenne, but there is great hope! There is more promise than ever before that these boys will be able to play football with their friends, run through their backyards catching bugs, climb the steps on the school bus, maintain their mobility and independence, and live long healthy lives. This year funds raised will also help families with care and equipment needs as well! Your support will not only help us run for the kids who can't, you'll also make a difference in the lives of these boys and their families!
Team TriUMP 2018 consists of:
And if you know our family- you know we travel as a herd... so also present will be MANY excited cheerleaders rooting on not only our team, but all Team Joseph triathletes!
Thank you for your support! Each donation is appreciated and will help us attempt to break some personal records on June 24, 2018 (or at least motivate us to finish) all while helping to support Team Joseph in their fight against Duchenne!
