Greetings to family and friends!
I am writing this fundraising appeal sleep deprived and sitting next to my newly adopted shelter dog Bode (3 year old black lab/golden retriever). As part of my mental health recovery my providers have helped me bring a “emotional support animal“ into my life. Working with the VT chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness has helped me understand the variety of recovery tools like support dogs and I am so very grateful for them.
Therefore, I am again reaching out for your financial support for NAMI VT. This weekend is there annual 5k MINDwalk fundraiser. As I have articulated, since moving to VT, in addition to enjoying my outdoor recreation, I have pursued a personal mission:
“Do everything I am able to improve lives of those with mental health conditions, relentlessly.”
I will not be doing the 5k walk but instead a 10k bike ride mile because of plantar fasciitis (and I love to bike, of course).
Any amount you feel moved to donate to support the mission of NAMI VT and of me will be gratefully and wholehearted appreciated. And, don’t worry if can’t give until after the event, anytime for you is the right time for us.
Donations gratefully accepted pre or post ride.
Thank you so much for supporting me and NAMI VT!
