Terry is my father. He is a husband, a brother, an uncle and a retired police officer. Terry has Alzheimers.
He was always a giving person, who pledged his life to serving others. He was a Park Police officer in Washington, DC until he retired on disability. After retirement he went back to school (while helping to raise 4 young children) to get his Masters in Psychology. His passion was to give back to police officers. In 1992 he started the Disable Police Officers Counseling Center, where he provided free counseling for disabled officers. In 1998 He started the Disabled Police Officers of America, which provided scholarships for disabled officers to be able to return to school after retirement.
Terry has been stolen from us by Alzheimers. We have been losing him bit by bit over the past 7 years, and there is no cure. Every Tuesday I get the chance to spend time with him, and we call it "Terry Tuesday." Please help us to raise money on behalf of Terry, to further the research on Alzheimers and to find a cure!
